A prosecutor for the Utah Attorney General's office is being honored for his work to prosecute child abusers and sex predators while expanding protections for victims.
Children's Justice Division Chief Craig Barlow is receiving the Outstanding Service Award from the National Children's Advocacy Center. The award is being given to Barlow this week during the group's national symposium in Alabama.
NCAC Executive Director Chris Newlin says the Barlow has been a leader in protecting child victims by expanding the state's Children's Justice Centers, which provide support services for families. The centers also provide prosecutors a safe and child-friendly environment to interview victims.
Barlow also oversees the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which has prosecuted more than 500 people in the past decade.
